Tea Cup Thursday : Midcentury Anyone?

Welcome Everyone to Tea Cup Thursday hosted by Mrs Spencer!

How about some Mid Century Tea or Coffe this Morning! I bring to you the Salem Biscayne pattern that I am desperatly searching for! I have a few pieces of the headed to my house including some tea cups, coffee cups, and the tea pot!

I think the most amazing feeling is coming home to a porch filled with goodness, especially vintage goodness. I love the Salem Biscayne pattern, the blue almost matches my wall color, and the subtle hints of green and pink are just great to me! Did you know that Salem commissioned Fire King to make casserole dishes in this pattern? I also have a few of these coming my way!

Yet again I send a plee if you have any of this pattern available use that email me button in the top left corner! I am especially on the hunt for the clear glass fireking pieces such as the tumblers, desert dishes, ash trays, coasters. Yes I really did just say all of that!

Happy Hunting!

Fun Things Happening Around here!

Well fall is upon us, and with fall comes the semi annual garage sale which will take place this weekend. Let me just go ahead and tell you that my house is a mess! There are things every where that I need to put in boxes and haul over for the garage sale.

In an effort to eat healthier we have found Bountiful Baskets, if you have not heard about them you need to run now and get your order in for this week! For $15 you get 2 baskets, one filled with fruits one filled with vegetables. This is what ours looked like this past week. I can not emphasise on how great of a deal this was! It is a co-op so all the money gets pulled together to buy vegetables and fruits and wholesale prices!

I am so very thankful that the drag racing season has come to an end. We only have 2 more races to photograph before we will be packing the camera gear away for the Winter. It has been a long season full of traveling and has been a blast for sure. We get to meet so many amazing people going around to the races. I am thankful for each one of them.

One of my favorite things about the Fall and Winter time is the cooking, I love to be in the kitchen whipping up something really good and filling! So I will leave you with the drop cookies my Grandmother used to make for my Father, My father used to make for me and my two sisters, and now I have made for my son! Instead of using peanut butter try Nutella!

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 4 ounces butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats

Preparation:

Combine sugar, milk, cocoa, and butter in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, and peanut butter. Add oatmeal and stir to blend thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Makes about 4 dozen no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies.

Happy Fall! Tea Cup Thursday, late posting.

We have been out of town, and super busy the last couple of weeks, so I have been seriously lacking on the Tea Cup Thursday posts! I also have not been able to get any good pictures of the cups so I will show you some from the Auction.

I leave you with one last wish, for a Happy Fall! Today Texas brought fall in with a 56 degree morning. That was quite a change from our 80 or 90 degree mornings. This morning required a small coat for us!

On the Hunt for Vintage China

Dear Blogging friends, if you can find any of these pieces of Salem Biscayne china, any shape or form in a thrift store etc buy them for me please and I will paypal you for the pieces plus shipping. This is a dream china set for me, I just love the colors of them, and I can not wait to get my cabinets painted to stick them in there! If you have any of these that you want to sell please use the contact me button on the top left of my blog!

The Salem Biscayne China was made in 1958.
I love this pattern, simply because its feminine without overdoing it. The colors on the plate is absolutely beautiful.

This is the mark on the bottom of the China. I am looking for several pieces, as I would like a full china set for my new open cabinets. Any leads would be appreciated.

Fall and Halloween!

As many other Bloggers out in the blog World are aware it is getting closer to Fall, and Halloween is just one of my favorite times of the year to decorate. For once it is socially acceptable for things to look ghoulish, a little tattered and ghory of course.

I am posting a few pictures of the house all with DIY art's projects and things that were found and put together at the dollar store. I can tell you know that I have no patience to take "in progress" pictures of things. I am always so anxious to see the end products that I forget about taking pictures of how to make things. None the less everything I have made you can find on my Halloween Pinterest Board. They were all ideas taken from other bloggers!

This is the entry way table of our house. Filled with spooking and awful things. Jar of eyeballs, fingers, and bugs. A handmade mirror with a woman peering back at you. Also some really great subway art!

This is a really cool project, frame plus googley eyes and you get this fun little creation!
Here is a wreathe that I made. Tulle in black and white, a dollar store sign, and some spiders from the dollar store. Complete project probably cost around $5 total.

Some pictures of the things in the Entry way. Homemade, you can find the templates on my Pinterest site. The"Boo" banners are on paper fans, with a bat at the beginning and at the end.
This is my dining room table with a little floral centerpiece i put together.
The Mantle set up, yet again you can find this banner as well on my Pinterest.

Hope you enjoy and find some inspiration!

Engagment Pictures

Since I am new to blogging, many don't know much about me. In my free time I am actually a photographer, I do a ton of drag racing Photography, and every now and then some one is willing to take a chance and let me take pictures of them.

Meet Alisha and Jordan they will be getting married on Memorial Day next year.
I get the great honor of photographing their event!

Alisha was actually inspired by a photo shoot Vanity Fair did of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. I was honored to be given the opportunity to recreate some of the intimate moments. There are more pictures hosted on my galleries if you want to have a look.
