Sexy Pure White Legs!

This is a project I didn't expect to keep, but none the less it stayed in my humble house because of its pure awesomeness! I picked up this table from a friend who is always on the lookout for furniture for me! She is a very dear friend, and knows exactly what I am looking for when it comes to furniture!

Overall I don't know if this is meant to be a side table in a living room or a bedroom, but the size of it is pretty darn awesome.

Here is before the hardware, I wasn't sure if i wanted to do anything to the hardware yet. I am not a huge fan of distressing the sides of things, but for some reason this piece just screamed at me to distress it! This is painted in Annie Sloan's pure white, it has really been my color lately!

Finally here is the reason I kept it! Look how great it turned out with the lamp, and all staged all fancy and what not! It looks absolutely perfect in my house, and it had a close match to a mate to go with it! Now I have two end tables in my house i painted, and aren't cheap particle board, and are something that i can be proud of!

Frenchy goes to Provence!

Hello Bloggers out in the world! Sorry I have been away, but i have been preparing for so many different things! I went to my first antique show and decided that my mom and I were going to try our hand at selling the antiques ourselves! So off to the shop we go in July. 

I just wanted to share with you one of my new projects!

This dresser was given to me by a friend, and boy did this baby need a face lift pretty quickly! I was also give its mate in a long 6 drawer dresser! It had some issues with cosmetics, but off I went to get my wood putty! I filled in all of the holes, and curved a new bottom where a dog seemed to have chewed a little!

 This is a during picture, after I put the first coats of the base paint on i felt like i couldn't leave it like that it needed more! So off to free handing I go with a little paint brush and some of Annie's Pure white! I did the details really well, but when i got to the drawers i sort of failed... this is when i learned a very valuable lesson!

 You mean if I tape off the drawers the lines will actually look good? Yes I wear the hat shamelessly of just wanting to get this project done after all it took me all day to work with! So ladies and gents, use that fancy painters tape and get to work! Your lines are going to look so much better, and your customers are going to love you for it!

Finally after quite a few hours of work here she is! Isn't she a beauty? I decided no distressing, sometimes those people are a little much with sanding down the sides of things so I didn't want to touch this gal! I did try a new wax for her, min wax instead of Annie's, and I kind of like it a little bit more! I have used it on a few other pieces that I finished up over the weekend! 

Well here I go, I promise to post some more! I have bouquets to show off to you as well as other little projects that are going on! Maybe even a upholstery how to is coming up! Stay tuned my friends! 

Lucketts Green goes French!

 There is a very awesome lady I have met in my travels of furniture! We have helped her out, and she has helped me out! The neighborly thing to do! Here in my very small town stuff like being rude gets around fast.

She needed help moving some furniture from a house in another town, so in return of my manly man helping her I was given this French Provincial Desk. It had some issues with the legs, which may husband fixed with our almighty Kreg pocket kit :)

It has been sitting in my house for a few weeks now, I didn't know what I should do with it, or the color I would go with. I had a few boxes of Miss Mustard Seeds paint that I didn't want to open after a bad experience the first time.

Alas, I decided to give her paint another try, and here is my version of Lucketts green! This is what Lucketts would look like if it went to France I feel :)

I just love the color on this desk, and the perfect color of the naturally oxidized handles were a plus for me! I hope you enjoyed the desk as much as I do! Now the struggle on whether or not I am going to keep it! 

The Louis Blue Vanity

Of course just like everyone, you are too excited about a project to take a really good before photo of it before you start slapping on some paint. Then halfway through you realize oh... I forgot to take a before picture "DOH". 

So here is the Vanity in our booth, it has been sitting in our booth for a good 6 months and hasn't sold yet like it was. I guess no one wanted to appreciate the original Hollywood regency style wood grain beautifullness.

So My mom and I decided to take a few pieces out of the booth and paint them, this was one of them because our other vanity has a matching wardrobe. I decided to take the color Louis Blue to it.

We are getting there, I am starting to like it in this picture, but I was very worried about the drawers, they seem to have some "raised" spots in them that I need to fix. 

Here it is with the original hardware back on it, you cant see the bubbling in the drawers I need to fix. But here is my next question... I was thinking about painting a design on it, but I am not sure what i should go with. Do you have any suggestions? At first I thought maybe some cherry blossoms? 

What would you do ?

I have been working on so many different projects that my head is spinning. Not too sure the reasons for why I am working on them, maybe a spot in the antique mall that is about to get taken over? 

Without Further ado I present my Annie Sloan Chalk  paint madness.... 

Louis Blue Vanity, I was thinking about painting some cherry blossoms on this one, but I have a feeling it is already sold as it sits with just the blue.

I love this dresser, and I am contemplating keeping it for myself... I will show you some better pictures soon.

Ikea drab, to DIY Fab

 Hello Everyone! Hopefully everything is settling down for a bit, we have been constantly going, it seems like I always have a test to take, a place to take the kid, or just something crazy going on around the house. 

This Saturday we were blessed with the help of some friends, we managed to put up a massive play set that was given to us by a lovely couple in another town. It now takes up a large corner in my backyard. 

We also got these friends to help us dig up the front yard, because unfortunately the front water pipe in our yard needs completely replaced. So we got these friends to trench up the front yard, about 20 feet of yard about 2 feet deep. Yet again we are blessed with great friends. 

A coupled weeks ago i picked up this Ikea coffee table, got a deal on it for $25. This table had absolutely no contrast, and was just kind of "bleh".

One of the good things about ikea though is that some of their products are made of real wood, this table was scratched all over the top, and left little to draw the eye.

 While this isn't the best picture i sanded down the top and took some further distressing to it. I waxed it with Annies dark wax, and painted the bottom of it with Paris Grey. Just the perfect amount of contrast for me! Then that is my Wuslu steal of the American Tea company bamboo rug. 

I hope everyone had a great Easter, I know we enjoyed time with family and friends. Started watching a new show, Game of Thrones, anyone else seen it? If you are a fan of mid-evil and crazy stories its definitely one to consider!

Another fun filled weekend!

I had another great and exciting weekend, this weekend was filled with picking up some stuff I had won in a auction from a town on the Texas Oklahoma border called Sherman! I spent the weekend locked up in my house pricing items while it was 70-80 degrees outside! You have to love Texas! I even put on my flip flops once or twice to take care of somethings! 

I managed to get 3 pieces of furniture redone over the weekend, here is just a small preview with some better pictures coming later on this week. Let me know what you think about the before and afters. 

  

This desk was done in coco, and Louis blue. I like the way it turned out just perfectly feminine for whoever plans on purchasing it!

 This chair I knew I had to have, it had great structure, but it was horrible in color and the pad was messed up. The auction owner said "its not a sitter" needless to say that wasn't good enough for me!

So I grabbed a socket and tightened the chair up, slapped some graphite paint on her, added a 1" cushion to the chair and then recovered it in some great fabric i got off the internet!

This is a great looking curio cabinet, we really needed a solution in the booth to show off glass pieces, and currently only had part of a hutch that we were using. 

So I took off the clock, and some of the doors on the front, it is painted with Antibes green on the inside and old grey on the outside, I also added the cute and feminine rose knob to the front.

Sorry about the pictures, I will bring you some better ones later this week, the internet crashed at the house so we are waiting for a new router!

Preview of some Chalk Paint Projects!

 Hello Everyone! I just wanted to share with you some of the projects that I have been working on lately, some of these still have more things that need to be taken care of on them, some are finished. These are all going to go into the booth at Pickers Point hopefully this weekend! Then I have a load of furniture to bring down from the Sherman area this weekend as well! 

 

Here is a before picture of a chest of drawers I have had for quite some time. Kind of plain and boring.

 This is a "group" shot of some of the projects I have been working on! As you can tell I have been a busy bee! I am in love with Annies Antibes Green, and Emperors Silk!

 I am considering putting a chalk board in each of these frames what do you think?

This is just a small gold vase I found sitting on top of my project chairs.

More Painting

Last night I decided to give the painting on the cabinets a break, and sat down and painted a few different things. I only have a picture of a cabinet, and of course its a cruddy cell phone picture. 

This is a chest done in Provence from Annie Sloan, I need to find some new drawer pulls for it, and i would like to stencil the front of it with something. I have decided not to distress it, because I like the blue that it is, it could bring a nice pop into our booth! I am also still debating on if it is going to go into the booth or not! 

What do you think I should stencil on the front?
